A graduate of Arlington High School, I was part of
the 1982 state championship football team.
After going on to Pacific Lutheran University, I played offensive line and special teams for four years under head coach Frosty Westering. I was fortunate enough to play in two national championship games in my college career.
Spending several years in the private sector doing everything from beverage distribution to telecommunications, I went back to school to get a Masters in teaching and a teaching certificate from City University. I was hired by Lakewood Middle School in 2005 to teach the 6th grade. At that time I was also the co-head coach of the middle school football team. After three years of coaching at the middle school level, I was hired at Lakewood High to be the offensive line coach.
In the past three years we have had seven offensive lineman chosen as All-Conference players and one went on to play at the collegiate level.
I am constantly working to learn new techniques, skills and drills to build the best offensive line possible. Being able to work with this group of young men, to not only make them better players but to make them quality citizens, has been a dream come true for me.
